Last year we were contracted by a local customer to undertake a roof refurbishment of an existing warehouse unit being converted into a domestic dwelling. The large low pitch roof area needed a warm roof covering to bring the buildings insulation up to standard. Once the roof deck was complete and the timber curb was fitted, we installed Protan’s se1.6mm standard overlap system.

The system comprised of Protan’s vapour control layer, 150mm PIR insulation board. This was mechanically fixed system. Once all joints were taped and sealed with insulation tape, the membrane layer was fitted. Once heat welded and restrained at the edges and around the Velux flat roof lights. The cover strips were welded to finish the system and ensure a perfect weathertight seal.

The perimeters of the roof were then finished using Alutec Fascia and rainwater goods in Anthracite 7016. The PPC aluminium really makes a bold statement, and gives that contemporary look to this now modern conversion. Another very customer! and another Single ply roof that will stand the test of time.

Curved Barn-Shrewsbury

We were asked to supply and install a curved standing seam roof on this barn conversion near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. our client requested a black finish on the roof. We opted to use Euroclad’s Vieo profile for the roof sheeting. We had the sheets pre curved in their factory before being deliverd to site for a rapid installation.

We finished the roof off with pre curved verge flashings giving a very sleek and smooth curve to the edge of the roofline.

A PPC aluminium Box gutter was installed to take the rainwater away, down four integral downpipes hidden in the buildings façade.

Another fantastic looking project!

Protan Warm Roof-Crawley

Ecoply were asked to supply and install a single ply warm roof to this extension in Crawley. We were asked to provide a 25year manufacturers warranty. To achieve this we used Protan’s Se1.8mm standard overlap membrane and uprated the fixings to stainless steel.

We first laid out the vapour control layer and ensured all laps/joins were taped and sealed. Then we installed the PIR insulation boards, before the Velux flat roof lights were dropped into position.

Then the Protan single ply system was installed, including reinforced Protan edge trims to the eaves, verges and also chased and sealed against the brickwork. The carefully heat welded overlaps and cover strips ensure a permanent weathertight seal that will last a very long time.

Barn Conversion-Coventry

We were recently contracted to supply and install a Colorcoat urban roof and rainwater goods on this barn conversion in the midlands. Our client wanted the popular colour Anthracite Ral 7016 to match the windows and doors. The roof was of cold roof construction, and included six Velux rooflights, also six soil vent pipes. we used Dektite flashings to seal around these, giving a neat and solid seal against the metal roof. We also installed a Colorcoat fascia to the eaves and verges before finishing the project off nicely with Tata steel’s Colorcoat urban rainwater system. comprising of 100x125mm box gutter and 76x76mm square downpipes. This roof was installed in 5 days and we returned for a further day to fit the downpipes.

A fantastic conversion of an agricultural building into 3 new dwellings.
